A new means of file sharing has recently become available, called Autonomi. The selling point is permanent data storage, which it does by encrypting the file, splitting it into parts, and distributing multiple copies of the parts to nodes. If one copy disappears, another is created automatically. The original file can be retrieved using an address.

A collection of certain material could be uploaded to the network, and it should stay there for as long as the network exists. No take-downs. No finicky file hosts.

The addresses of those files could be compiled into an "address book", such as an sqlite db file, including descriptions and tiny avif thumbnails under 10kb, and that address book can be distributed in editions, like a zine. No need to host a forum and worry about security breaches or social engineering.

How do you know the collection is authentic? PGP signatures. An author can sign an archive containing the address book with their private key, and anybody can use the author's public key to verify who created it and that it hasn't been tampered with, regardless of where they got it from.

You might ask "these address books are still files, can't they also be removed"? There is no comparison between needing to download a 500MB archive before sharing it, with only needing to share a relatively minuscule archive to provide access to hundreds of files.
